Explore Harbour Town and Sea Pines Activities
Each spring the Heritage Classic PGA tournament is a celebration, not just of golf, but of everything good about Hilton Head Island. Touring pros look forward to this special atmosphere, one week after The Masters.
More than 30 different courses await you. Our Director of Members Services can arrange preferred privileges for you at a select number of exclusive clubs, beginning with the famous Harbour Town Golf Links – only steps from the Club. Other exclusive clubs that welcome Harbour Town Yacht Club members include the very private Haig Point, on Daufuskie Island, the Wexford Club and the courses at Belfair Plantation.
Discounted tennis rates are just steps away from Harbour Town Yacht Club, at the Sea Pines Racquet Club. Watch some great tennis, catch a pick-up game, or ask our Concierge to arrange a court for your singles or doubles enjoyment. You’ll recognize the pro here. He’s Stan Smith, Grand Slam champion of the U.S. Open and Wimbledon, and four-time Grand Prix Championship Series titleholder.
The atmosphere, the views and the food are all second-to-none. Together they make the Club Room truly unforgettable. Some Harbour Town Yacht Club owners prefer the Club over any island restaurant. Some social members come every week. It’s that good. Open nights are popular occasions for socializing. And on an island with more than 200 restaurants you’re sure to be pleased when you do venture forth. Just call the Director of Member Services.
As a member, you’ll enjoy cruising on the Club’s classic, 42’ teak and mahogany yacht, “Mystique.” Moored just steps away in the Yacht Basin, the Mystique cruises Calibogue Sound, the marshes, the top-rank beaches and the strait between Hilton Head and Daufuskie Island. Dolphins welcome you, and the Mystique’s aft deck offers the perfect setting for relaxing, daylight or dusk.
New models of private jets have been named here. Real estate fortunes have been planned here. Lifelong, profitable partnerships have been formed here. You’re in good company when you choose to meet in one of the conference rooms of the Harbour Town Yacht Club. Our Director of Members Services will make all the arrangements.
Moments away, members enjoy a state-of-the art fitness center. Take the walking or biking trails, or hop the trolley, to the fitness center in The Shops At Sea Pines Center for aerobic and resistance workouts. You can take advantage of classes or schedule a personal trainer session, too. Bring the family for an “everybody in” afternoon at the sparkling Harbour Town Pool. Private lessons are available.
The beaches of Hilton Head Island appear among the “Best” lists of many authorities and from time to time we top a list or two. Access to the Sea Pines Beach Club assures you of the perfect spot on what many have called the perfect beach.
The bike paths that radiate from Harbour Town Yacht Club are one example of the inspired leadership of Sea Pines founder Charles Fraser. So widely imitated now, the 15 miles of gently paved paths were quite an original idea then, and their rolling ease, their rhythm and their beauty have never been exceeded. Runners, walkers and bikers share the paths peacefully, and as a member of the Harbour Town Yacht Club you may exercise as much or as little as you like.
From the beginning of Sea Pines, the founder set aside hundreds of acres to remain unspoiled. Today comprising 605 acres (the same size as Central Park), the Forest Preserve blends wildlife habitat and outdoor recreation with harmony and beauty.
Trails, bridle paths, wetland boardwalks, observation decks, bridges and fishing docks make it possible to move comfortably through the subtropical sanctuary. Birds of exotic beauty, plants and animals unseen in civilization – all await you in the Forest Preserve.
Lawton Stables puts the quiet calm of the horse culture within moments of Harbour Town Yacht Club. Whether you mount up or just visit these handsome creatures with your family, there’s something here to put you back in touch with a gentler time.
Lawton Stables offers daily guided trail rides through the tranquil Sea Pines Forest Preserve (for those eight years old and older, reservations required), pony rides for kids aged seven and under, and a free small animal farm that is open to the public seven days a week.
Their small animal farm, which is free for everyone, allows you to get up close and personal with some very sweet and friendly creatures – goats, sheep, miniature donkeys, rabbits, chickens, pot-bellied pigs and alpacas.
