Welcome to the Harbour Town Yacht Club

The Heart of Hilton Head

This is the spot where Hilton Head Island was invented. The original idea of blending a European-style seaside village with the glorious subtropical comforts of a Carolina barrier island began right here. No place has kept the faith better than Harbour Town Yacht Club.

Basking between Charleston – once “the most English city in America” – and Savannah – the richest port south of New York when cotton was king – Hilton Head Island became a magnet for accomplished people from all walks of life when Charles Fraser started Sea Pines on this ground. The more you find out about that vision, the more you’ll see how it bettered the world a little. You can be part of that story here.

Weather

Most people find “subtropical” to be the perfect spot between back-home and too-hot. A “cold” day in winter might be 55 Fahrenheit. A midsummer sun feels like the cure for every shiver you ever felt. And about four in the afternoon an island breeze changes everything. Think Bermuda, rather than Miami.

Directions

Because the East Coast slants down and in, Hilton Head Island is as convenient to the Midwest as it is to the East. Many guests drive. Savannah Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) hosts direct flights from major U.S. cities including New York, Chicago, Atlanta and Washington, D.C. among others. Just minutes from Harbour Town Yacht Club, on-island Hilton Head Island Airport (HHH) connects everywhere and hosts private aircraft. We are located at 149 Lighthouse Road.
